Motobatsi Organics is certified to the Ecocert Organic Standard, which is recognised as equivalent to the EU organic regulation. That allows our certified crops to be exported as organic into the European Union and Great Britain.

Turmeric and ginger are not in our certified scope at present.
What an inspector can see
Certification depends on records. We keep them in the field, the drying room and the store, and review them before every audit.
Field records
Planting, inputs, harvests, soil tests and weekly pest scouting for every block.
Water
Irrigation sheets for each field, and daily rainfall.
Seed
Organic seed, including seed saved from our own harvest, or Ecocert authorisation where organic seed is not available.
Drying
Every run: electricity used, temperature, moisture, and wet and dry weight.
Storage
The bag register, pallet labels and storage zones, tied together by lot code.
People
Staff logbooks recording each day's tasks and hours.
